The KwK L / 70 is a planned German 105mm tank gun from the Second World War. The length of the barrel would probably be 70 calibers, or 735 centimeters. It is worth adding that initially it was planned to use a barrel with a length of 66 and 68 calibers. The initial velocity of the projectile fired from this gun in the course of the field trials reached 965 m / s, when firing a shell with a total mass of 18 kilograms. However, it is probable that the ballistic parameters and the armor penetration capabilities of this gun did not significantly exceed the already produced 75 mm (KwK42) or 88 mm (KwK36, and later KwK43) cannons, and therefore the development of this gun was abandoned. KwK L / 70 was considered the main armament of the Panzerkampfwagen VII Löwe heavy tank however, in the end, neither the gun nor the tank entered mass production.
