Superjumbo Airbusa A380, zaprojektowany w ¶cis³ej wspó³pracy z g³ównymi liniami lotniczymi, lotniskami i w³adzami lotniczymi, jest najbardziej zaawansowanym, przestronnym oraz wydajnym samolotem pasa¿erskim, jaki kiedykolwiek zosta³ stworzony. A380 zosta³ oficjalnie udostêpniony 19 grudnia 2000 r. Wejdzie do eksploatacji na pocz±tku roku 2006, wyznaczaj±c ca³kowicie nowe standardy w podró¿y lotniczej.
A380 bêdzie najwiêkszym produkowanym na ¶wiecie samolotem pasa¿erskim. Rozmiary hali produkcyjnej, w której bêdzie wytwarzany pobi³y ¶wiatowe rekordy. Pó³ kilometra d³ugo¶ci, 250 metrów szeroko¶ci oraz 46 metrów wysoko¶ci - w tym ponad 32 tysi±ce ton stali - 4 razy wiêcej ni¿ wie¿a Eiffla - do tego æwieræ miliona metrów sze¶ciennych betonu.
Sam samolot liczyæ bêdzie 73 metry d³ugo¶ci i mie¶ciæ bêdzie ok. 555 pasa¿erów. Jego no¶no¶æ wynosi 560 ton startowych.
Obecnie ju¿ 129 firm z³o¿y³o zamówienia na nowy samolot, m.in: Air France, Emirates, Federal Express, ILFC, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines oraz Virgin Atlantic Airways.
The Airbus A380 (also known as Super-Jumbo) is a double-decker, four-engine airliner. Designed in close collaboration with major airlines, airports and aviation authorities, it is the most advanced, spacious and productive passenger airliner ever created. The A380 project was launched in December 2000 and the ready-made aircraft entered service in early 2006, setting completely new standards in air travel. The A380 is the world's largest commercial airliner. The size of the production hall in which it is produced broke world records. Half a kilometer long, 250 meters wide and 46 meters high - including over 32,000 tons of steel - 4 times more than the Eiffel Tower - plus a quarter of a million cubic meters of concrete. The plane itself is 73 meters long and can accommodate 555 passengers, divided into three travel classes. Its carrying capacity is 560 take-off tons.
