Due to the need to strengthen the firepower of the long-barreled version of the Pz.Kpfw IV tank, production of the Ausf version began in June 1943. H. It was armed with a modified 75 mm gun, designated KwK43 L / 48. This variant, partly based on elements of the previous model, appeared on the front line this summer, participating, among other things, in the retreat on the Eastern Front. This vehicle, however, still remained a rather complicated structure, especially in production. This made it necessary to simplify it, which resulted in the implementation of the Ausf model into service. J installed from June 1944.
